Hemiptera: Pyrrhocoridae
Dindymus versicolor
The Harlequin Bug, (Dindymus versicolor), is a very attractive bug, unless you happen to own a garden or crop that a bunch of them is finding nutritious.
We found a large number having a Harlequin Bug rally on a few old fence posts. Each fence post population comprised adults and several different instars.
Parts of fence posts were so crowded that there was barely standing room and travel around the post, which all of them seemed to be engaged in, necessitated climbing over other insects.
